Like I said last week, I like hunting. But, I only hunt for food. If we don’t need it for food, there really isn’t a good reason to kill an animal—unless it’s for protection. That said, there are times for killing that don’t involve food or protection—overpopulation. Sometimes we humans have to step in a help control herd size—because we have killed or run off a lot of natural predators. It would be better if we could live a long side natural predators but history has played that out and we’ve never really been able to. One day, maybe bear and humans can live side-by-side—but not today, nor even over the next few weeks.

When you’re out hunting it’s always good to know where the deer run and which way the wind blows. Deer have a good sense of smell, but they tend to use the same paths—so do humans.
